events presented by the Nonprofit Partnership. There are two workshops being
offered this month which you may find beneficial for you or a member of your
staff. Tuesday, August 8 Reading and Using Financial StatementsThis
workshop focuses on understanding and interpreting financial information for
more effective organizational decision-making. Topics include: an overview
of financial activities of a nonprofit, daily accounting policies, procedures
and practices, and uses (internal and external) of financial statements.

RFP'sIs your organization a good candidate for a government grant? Funding
opportunities are available on Federal, State, County and local levels, but
certain knowledge and skills are needed to apply. Learn first hand how to
interpret and respond to RFP's (Request for Proposals), how to determine your
eligibility, and tips on writing a winning government proposal. Time:

the Long Beach Museum of Art.

FURNITURE is available to nonprofit organization from the former Long Beach
Naval Shipyard. There is still a large surplus of office furniture including
computer desks, file cabinets, chairs, etc. You must bring your own truck
and labor to transport items from the building. The five stories of
furniture need to be cleared out within a week. If you are interested,
