Oct 15 - 28 Monday-Friday with Martin Hartmann
Cost $25 per Day  bring sack lunch
10am- 5pm at the Ojai Foundation, Ojai Ca 805-646-8343
Join Martin and build an outdoor earthen bench using locally available 
materials and simple techniques. Basic cob, earth bags and plastering will 
be taught. Apply these skills to Benches, Landscape Walls , Outdoor Ovens
Martin Hartmann has taught workshops at the California Institute of Earth 
Architecture.

Nov 7 -21 Earth Building with Jim Hallock and Stephen Gates of Earth Block Inc.
Cost $875 at the Ojai Foundation, Ojai Ca 805-646-8343
Workshops fee include tent village housing and meals
This intensive is for students or professionals interested in expanding 
their knowledge of green building practises.
The course is designed to cover earth building techniques,rammed 
earth,pressed earth block, earthen bag, ceramic houses and traditional 
adobes . During the course an actual pressed block structure will be 
constructed.Participants will have the opportunity to broaden their 
understanding of permaculture principles as they are applied to building 
design and construction.
Course provides extensive job placement along with hands on experience. 
Opportunities for work trades and scholarships are available

Jim Hallock is the founder of Earth Block, Inc specializing in press block 
adobe residential design and building  Jim teaches internationally and 
holds a contractors's license in CA and NM. He has over 30 years experience 
in the building industry

Stephen Gates is a permaculture designer focused on the blurring the line 
between architecture and agriculture and mainstreaming community. He is 
well versed in many forms of alterative building and design.

Dec 1-15 Permaculture Design Course with Penny Livingston-Stark and Brock 
Dolman

Materials, Edible Landscaping, energy Conservation, Site Planning and

Permaculture Design

Penny Livingston-Stark is a internationally recognized Permaculture Teacher 
and Designer with over 20 years experience in this field. Founder of 
Sustainable Living Designs and co founder and Co director of the 
Permaculture Institute of Northern California

Brock Dolman founding member of both the Sowing Circle LLC intentional 
community and Occidental Arts and Ecology Center. Brings 20 year's of 
experience to his work as OAEC's Permaculture Program Director
