'Getting Comfortable with Power Tools' is the first event in Sweetwater Collaborative's Women's EmPOWERment series. For this pilot series, we request that only women attend. The class will take place on Saturday, February 9 from 1:00-4:00 pm at the Watershed Resource Center. The class is limited to six students. Get more info or Register now at sweetwatercollaborative.org.

This class is an opportunity to learn about, experiment with, and get comfortable with power tools such as a drill or Sazall, and some non-power tools like a stud finder and pipe cutter. The second two events, both hands-on workshops, will build on skills learned in the Getting Comfortable with Power Tools class.

The second event is a hands-on workshop diverting downspouts, installing a rainwater tank, and shaping the earth to create infiltration basins, including an overflow path for the rain tank. It will take place on Saturday, February 23, from 10:00 am-3:00 pm.

The third event in the series is a hands-on workshop installing a Laundry to Landscape greywater system. It will take place on Saturday, March 2, from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm.

Both workshops will take place at a residence on the Westside of Santa Barbara. The exact address will be given to those who register online for the series.

The cost of the series is $75 for all three events; there is also a sliding scale option of $60 for the series. If you sign up, we are counting on your participation in all three events. We need a certain number of participants to fulfill each workshop's goals. Register now.

There will be two women instructors. We are looking forward to working with you!
