Permaculture Education Next Big Step Survey #1
Launch of International Permaculture Education Network (IPEN)
The International Permaculture Education Network (IPEN) is inviting permaculture teachers and course organisers to share needs and challenges for permaculture education through a global survey. The first extensive survey of global permaculture education.
IPEN is working with PIRN to initiate permaculture education related research that will further enhance and improve education results.
Introduction to this Survey
This survey is a first piece of work for the Permaculture Education Next Big Step group, following on from IPC2015 (for information on the Next Big Step click here). This survey is focused on the teaching of permaculture - it will help inform proposals for the International Permaculture Education Network (IPEN) to help facilitate a continuously evolving, diverse permaculture education system. For more information on IPEN click here.
The IPEN aims focus on the following:
• Developing permaculture education resources and teacher support across a range of languages and cultures
• Developing new core courses and strengthening the standards of PDC’s
• Measuring and increasing the effectiveness and impacts of permaculture education
Your answers to this survey will help us understand of the current nature and spread of permaculture education, the vision for future work, and the challenges facing teachers. We hope to work with other national and global-region teaching groups and networks, to help nurture and support permaculture education. Your answers will help us investigate how best to strengthen and expand permaculture education, and teaching opportunities - so please pass the survey link on to other teachers you know..
Informed by your responses, we will create a simpler survey to translate into other languages, to reach teachers all around the world.
We will share the results of the survey and publish them on the IPEN page and share them with Next Big Step contacts around the world, with full survey results and a summary available, and we hope to present results at IPC2017. If you would like to be informed of the results and IPEN's progress, you can provide contact details later in the survey.
It is difficult to phrase all the questions perfectly for everyone, and there are limitations in how we can use this online survey system - so please answer each question as best you can. We already know this survey is providing extremely valuable information, so please add your views to it.
It will probably take you 20-40 minutes to complete the survey - the longer time if English is not your first language (with this survey monkey system you can complete it in 2 or 3 sittings if you need to). We really appreciate your participation in this survey and your contribution to permaculture education.
By continuing with this survey you agree that we may use your data as described above. If you wish to withdraw at any time, please simply cancel your entry and do not complete the survey.
