Via Real Rain Garden, Sat August 20, 10:00 AM-3:00 PM

We will be starting on the transformation of a sweet outdoor space in a mobile home park in Carpinteria. This workshop will focus on following the path from where the downspouts are or will be diverted, and digging the mulch basins that form the foundation of the rain garden we'll be creating. Snacks, lunch, drinks and tools will be provided. Workshop is free; you do need to register online. Register now.
It's hard to imagine now that it will ever rain again-- but know that rainwater harvesting is even more important in low rain years. Now is the time to get the earthworks done, then the lawn sheet mulched, and let it wait until the late fall to plant just before whatever rainy season we have. Join us and learn more about this essential practice for our geographical area - learn by doing, observing, and sharing the work with others. It's the Sweetwater way.
