[Southern California Permaculture] SBCC Permaculture Design Course (PDC) offered for Spring 2018

Once again a permaculture design course (PDC) is being taught at SBCC, for
very reasonable cost, earning 5 college credits!
With all the fire & flood, good time to focus on innovative and better
designs for our landscapes. Permaculture founder Bill Mollison & PA
Yeomans, Keyline Design innovator and author who influenced Bill &
permaculture, both lost family members to wildland fires that happen
frequently in Australia, they contemplated deeply, worked on strategies to
help.

1. SBCC Environmental Horticulture Classes for Spring 2018
The following classes are offered in Spring 2018, enrollment information can

EH 113 - Ecological Restoration II (3.0 units)
Introduction to the concepts and implementation of ecological restoration of
local habitat types, including chaparral, coastal sage scrub, oak woodland,
and riparian eco-niches. Emphasis on watersheds and riparian restoration,
including seed collection, propagation and project evaluation.

EH 109 - Permaculture Design (5.0 units)
Introduction to the principles of permacultural design, where ecological
patterns and principles are integrated in human agricultural and domestic
systems for sustainability.

Speakers
EH 110 - Intro to Horticulture (3.0 units)
Introduction to all the major topics in horticulture, including: plant
anatomy, soil care, composting, organic fertilizing, irrigation systems,
water conservation, permaculture, native American land management, methods
of sustainable landscaping and pest management.
