[Southern California Permaculture] Shop LOCAL/Kandarian Organic Farms/Ancient Grains now at IV Food Coop

Hi Everyone -

Look what the Isla Vista Food Coop is now carrying!  Kandarian 
Organic Farms Ancient Grains ...  at the moment the only place you 
can find in Santa Barbara County -

Last year, Larry Kandarian was a part of our Annual Santa Barbara 
Community Seed Swap with an exhibit booth, and scheduled to give a 20 
minute talk, that because of enthusiastic audience interest, lasted 
over an hour!

People loved hearing about these wonderful ancient grains and how 
they can deeply nourish our families as they have whole civilizations 
in the past---the audience just couldn't let him go.  Gluten & 
dietary issues detrimental to health attributed to grains come 
primarily from over-processed grains grown in poor soils, stored 
inappropriately, and too long.

Kandarian Organic Farm ancient grains are grown on beautiful healthy 
soils nearby in Los Osos, within a 150 mile food radius, free of all 
pesticides.

Food Coops are always a healthy addition to any community, and even 
if Isla Vista a bit far for daily or weekly shopping, you might 
consider supporting with a monthly trip to the Coop to buy bulk items 
(they are beginning to carry more & more of these), and stock up on 
Kandarian grains for your good health.  Currently there is a special 
display, with recipes, would be easy to make a holiday gift basket 
with two or three of them.

And good news! Larry Kandarian will once again be at the 9th Annual 
Santa Barbara Community Seed Swap on Sunday, January 29, hope to see you there.
