Toby Hemenway, author of the bestselling book on Permaculture, returns to
Los Angeles to discuss our sustainable futures and his new book, “The
Permaculture City” (Chelsea Green).

Urban and suburban living, according to Hemenway, is one full of abundance
and not concessions using our proximity to others as a strength instead of
an obstacle. The first step is recognizing our own “ecology” of personal
connections with each other. This invisible network rivals the physical
infrastructure that surrounds us in Los Angeles and strategies to harness
it for wellbeing is illustrated by anecdotes, case studies and throughly
researched practicum by Hemenway.

The talk is followed by a book signing and light refreshments. A $10
suggested donation goes towards Kiss The Ground, a non-profit dedicated to
regenerative agriculture.
