Ian Lodge CalEarth's site director comments about Erik:
"If anyone needs a good and dependable ...guidance on a project or an extra helpful hand on a pre-existing project then I would like to recommend Erik Ven.
Erik has been at Cal Earth for several months now and has had his hand in teaching and building and would be an asset to any project. He is also a good thinker and applies logic to whatever the task at hand resulting in good decisions and right action. Further, he is dependable and consistent!... Ian Lodge Cal Earth Site Director"
Through the course of this workshop, participants will learn all the important aspects of basic Superadobe earth building while creating a 10-12 feet dome with two windows and a doorway.
The course will introduce the principle of the arch, bagging and waterproofing and plastering techniques, students will build their own window and door forms, which will immediately be used in the building process. We’ll learn about how to use compass and what wall corbelling is.
By the end of the week you will not just be able to build a dome but also will have built your first one.
