Hi Everyone, Eddie Harris, president of Urban
Creeks Council forwarded this announcement, in
case any of you are interested in the topic, want
to learn more by attending today's City
Council. (I'm sorry to say I don't know anything
about Veronica Meadows, except it is a housing
project proposed just off of Las Positas Road). mb

Hi everybody,
This should be the last update - it is input from
our legal experts who have done an amazing job on
this issue for us going back years.
Here is the message that should be delivered to
the City Council tomorrow, and by email to Grant
House who is the likely swing
vote. <mailto:GHouse at SantaBarbaraCA.gov>GHouse at SantaBarbaraCA.gov .
Please tell the City Council:
that they should hold this election in
November, when more people will vote. The City
has a terrible record of voter turnout in June,
which is why the developer wants it then. The
developer could have made this request a year
ago, but sat on their hands. Now they want an
accelerated schedule for a low-turnout
election. The developer can wait 5 more months
for this question to be answered in November. In
2008 the Countys June election turnout was 39%,
and November 86%! The Charter requires voter
approval before using City parkland for private
development let ALL the voters be heard, in November.
Thank you for your help We hope to see you tomorrow!!
Eddie Harris
