         The nuclear reactor crisis in Japan has 
raised many questions about the safety of nuclear 
plants and the risk of the radioactivity they 
produce. Dr. Wullaert worked in the nuclear 
industry for over 40 years and will give his 
interpretation of the events in Japan, the 
relative risks involved, and what can be done to 
avoid or treat radiation exposure.

Join Scientist Dick Wullaert, as he explains the 
truth about nuclear radiation.  Dick has worked 
in nuclear power plants and says the  information 
will surprise you.  Facts you need to know to 
stop the fear and worry.  Please tell all of your 
friends so that they may attend.

Some of the topics covered will be:
·         How do nuclear reactors work, what went 
wrong in Japan, and how does Fukushima compare to 
previous reactor failures
·         What are fission products, how 
radioactive are they, and how do they spread
·         What is the relative risk of  nuclear 
radiation compared to other forms of radiation we 
are exposed to
·         What are the health effects of 
radiation and what can we do to minimize them
                               
About the Presenter:           Dick Wullaert, PhD:
Dr. Wullaert specialized in radiation effects on 
reactor fuels, cladding, pressure retaining 
components and structural integrity issues in the 
nuclear industry. He has been published in the 
areas of radiation embrittlement, failure 
analysis, structural integrity, and model and 
full scale testing of large structures (pressure 
vessels, piping, spent fuel shipping casks). He 
has managed nuclear facilities (hot-cells, 
materials 
laboratories).
