NEEDS
-- Housemate needed. Rent a room in a special place for the right person. Ideally someone with a serious commitment to the environment, someone who likes to garden and doesn't smoke and is a great communicator. The space is perfect for workshops. -- Quail Springs is continuing to welcome interns to join their team. Work and live "on the farm" up to 6 months. Assist with permaculture development and share in community life. Projects include food systems, gardening, aquaculture, natural building, watershed restoration, animal husbandry, capital campaign development, and more. Experience and training not needed. - Support needed for Trees for Children - a new organization created to plant the number of trees that were used in the construction of a home. This benefits Quail Springs where much of the reforestation will happen They intend to turn that desert back into a forest. www.treesforchildren.org
-- We need 15 gallon pots for our trees which are growing like crazy! We have big avocados, loquats, asian pears and many more that need transplanting. We will be having a fundraiser for our educational organization, EarthBridge Institute, in September and we're looking for items that can be sold at a silent auction. These can be anything from artwork to good tools to ...? You will get a receipt for donation, it is a non-profit. -- I'm looking for a large and inexpensive Los Angeles supplier of humus, black soil, compost, etc, that uses at least mostly organic material. No "biosolids" from the City with mercury and lead or god knows what in it, for instance. I need a whole bunch of this stuff and my current supplier is pretty small.
