A Sustainable Landscape Showing

Project Mission:

To design and build a landscape that is not only aesthetically beautiful, 
but also completely functional from an environmentally sensitive 
perspective; to serve as a demonstration project by outreaching to design 
professionals, planners and homeowners about creating functional form, yet 
minimizing footprint on our planet.



Designing and Building with Nature, for People. Featuring:
    * Rainwater harvesting & storage,
    * Groundwater recharge systems,
    * Permeable hardscape including porous cobblestone driveway,
    * Edible, drought tolerant and native plantings,
    * Smart irrigation system (supplemental),
    * Composting and solar PV systems,
    * Living (planted) retaining wall,
    * Fish pond & energy saving stream,
    * Gazebo sanctuary with recycled content roof,
    * Chemical free & used local materials and artisans.


By utilizing plants, materials and systems native to the Santa Barbara 
area, WELDesign and I have created an inviting living space for humans and 
wildlife alike. Textures, colors, sounds and smells carefully designed and
