Santa Barbara Tour of Sustainable Buildings and Gardens
5th Annual Parade of Green Building
Friday and Saturday, April 29 & 30, 2005
Join us for the fifth annual Parade of Green Building on April 29 and 30.
The opening reception and key note speaker is Friday April 29, followed on
Saturday April 30 with a self guided tour highlighting fifteen
environmentally sustainable buildings and gardens.
John Knott will give the reception keynote address at the Santa Barbara
Museum of Natural History s Fleischmann Auditorium. The night begins with a
wine reception at 6pm followed by the lecture at 7 pm.
Knott ranks among the nation's leading advocates of development that
preserves, protects and enhances the natural environment. On Saturday,
April 30th, the fifteen sites are open for viewing from 9am-5pm. The
Hayward Design Center at 606 Olive Street is the parade headquarters.
This year marks the 5th anniversary of the tour since it was conceived and
started by The Sustainability Project of Santa Barbara. This popular event
has become a prototype for other communities who are following our lead.
Tickets to the event are $15 and include the Friday night
reception/lecture, viewing of all sites, a site map and booklet, and 5
workshops. Tickets are available in Santa Barbara at Hayward Design Center
at 606 Olive St (805-962-1036) and at SBCC's Wake Center at 300 N. Turnpike
(805-964-6853) and Schott Center, 310 West Padre (805-687-0812).
