NEW OJAI EVENING FARMERS MARKET OPENING THURS MAY 13

The Ojai Evening Market is a new Farmers Market,
beginning Thursday May 13, and running every Thursday
from 5 - 8 pm. The Market is located at 843 E. Ojai
Avenue, in the American Legion parking lot – just
past Fulton St. directly behind Ojai Automotive Supply
and across from Westridge Market.

The Grand Opening Celebration will include official
ribbon cutting with local dignitaries, along with live
music and free drawings for prizes. The market
specializes in fresh local produce, flowers and
gourmet delectables.

The market is seasonal and runs thru October 2004. The
Market’s organizers, Natasha & John Fonteyn are
experienced in farmer direct stores and open markets.
Their background will help insure that only certified
farmers sell at the market. For more info please call
or email market managers Natasha & John Fonteyn,
805-798-1828.

The Ojai Evening Market is another opportunity for
customers to buy local farmer direct produce and value
added products. Ojai Evening Market serves both local
farmers and their customers by offering every local
farmer or producer an opportunity to sell. Our aim is
to have the healthiest and freshest local produce
available,

Ojai Evening Market is going to be more than a place
to food shop. It will create a classic paseo/mercado
destination activity. The Market will draw on its
natural setting, climate and pink moment timing to
deliver this unique experience.

The Market is dedicated to work in cooperation with
other local merchants in creating a new attraction in
an older part of town. The market also sponsors booth
space for local non-profits and charitable
organizations.

The success of Ojai Evening Market requires strong
community support. The shared intent from the Market’s
major stakeholders -- the City, area residents, and
local farmers will determine the strength of the
operation to thrive and develop.

The highest source of nutrition is the simplest –
fresh local produce. Local and organically grown
Farmer’s markets are part of the fastest growing
segment in foods. Few communities have a more keen
awareness and demand for fresh produce. Ojai Evening
Market, a for-profit partnership, was formed in 2004
to facilitate farmer direct marketing in a new evening
format.
