continuing Tuesday night dinner&chat series
on

Meeting every Tuesday at 7 PM, Food's Future will address both macro and
micro issues regarding farming in the South Coast Bioregion with an emphasis
on the organic alternative. The meetings will be held at The Farmer and The
Cook in Ojai, hosted by Steven Sprinkel. Special dinner service will be
prepared that day and available by 6 PM prior to the discussions.
This Tuesday evening we will talk about organic marketing, the future of
specialty crops and specialty markets and how to participate in small scale
horticultural commerce.
Store co-owner, Steven Sprinkel, is an organic farmer producing a wide
variety of crops in Ojai. A producer with much experience in growing and
marketing organic fresh fruits, herbs and vegetables, he also publishes a
monthly column in ACRES,USA and is a specialist in public policy, organic
farming standards and organic certification.
Food's Future is designed to broadly interest anyone who wants to learn more
about how food is produced and how they may promote a progressive vision of
agriculture in the South Coast region. That vision must include all producers
no matter the scale of production, be it ten Valencia orange trees in the
backyard or ten blocks of citrus in Santa Paula.
