FILMS ON GMO FOODS, AMERICA'S FOOD CRISIS AND SOLUTIONS TO PREVIEW AT THE
PALM THEATRE
On Tuesday, August 28, HopeDance Magazine will present three short films that
examine the problems and solutions of America's agricultural industry, the
dangers
of GMO foods, and successful farming methods in the area.
Bill Spencer, owner of Windrose Farms in Paso Robles, will also speak about
growing, processing, and marketing organic foods, including an overview of
Community Supported Farm (CSF) programs in the County.
"A Time to Act for Family Farms" is a 30-minute sobering examination of our
industrial agricultural industry offering a new type of sustainable family
farm as a solution.
"Against the Grain" is a 15-minute film about the dangers of GMO foods.
"Beyond Organics", is a 35-minute film on Michael Ableman's highly
successful Fairview Gardens in Goleta.
The evening will be highly informative for anyone interested in making safe
food choices, growing and/or selling their own food, and connecting with the
local organic farm community.
The presentation and films are from 7:00-9:00 p.m. No reservations are
necessary. General admission is $10; $5 for students, seniors and children
under 12. Call HopeDance at 544-9663 for details. Proceeds benefit HopeDance
Magazine. Dinner at Big Sky starts at 5:00p.m. for those who wish to hang out
socially before the film gig.
