South Coast Watershed Alliance's "Great Friday"!!!

For anyone interested in exploring broader social and environmental issues
related to this bio-region, SCWA's bioregional group will be meeting the last
Friday of each month ("Great Friday"). For now, these informal brown-bag lunch
meetings will be held at the County Courthouse Sunken Gardens at 12:00 noon.
The first "happening" will be Friday, Feb. 25, 2000 at noon. 
We'll discuss "community", "sustainability" and "bioregionalism" for this
community -which includes business people, students, academics, seniors,
trades
people, fishing and AG folks, artists, environmentalists and
non-environmentalists alike. Through this process we hope to rebuild our
community, instill hope, celebrate diversity (human and plant & animal), and
begin to protect and rebuild our commons. In the group's discussions so
far, we
see this broader bioregionalism discussion as a way to preserve social
networks, connectivity and "roots" to the community and environment.
