[Santa Cruz, CA Permaculture] The Equity and Inclusion Scholarship Fund /The Building Resilient Communities Permaculture Convergence Oct 5-8 in Hopland, CA)

Very grateful there is help out there to be more inclusive.  I would like to share that a little bird told me that the individuals who received scholarships last year wore distinct name tags which made it so that everyone there knew that they were 'scholarship recipients,' and that this (perhaps unintentionally) set them apart from the rest of the group.  I grew up as a scholarship receiver for summer camp.  I would be super duper ashamed if I had to wear a name tag pointing me out as such in front of my peers.  Is this true?  If so, is this something that we feel is appropriate and that is going to happen again?  
Also, 50% of our state is now Hispanic.  Do we have material that invites people to the gathering in Spanish?  Do we offer bilingual lectures?  If not, I would be happy to be a part of helping out with translating Spanish language materials and being more inclusive of Spanish speaking people.  best,D
