Quail Springs' February Newsletter

COVEY HAPPENINGS...

THANK YOU!

Thank you to all who graced the land during our January Service Learning
(Oceanna, Tamon, Carol, Rachel, and Kim)!! You are mighty gabion builders
and yurt raisers - we loved sharing music and stories with you all and look
forward to seeing your shining faces again. A special thank you to Chris
Rumbley for your help and friendship during your divinely timed internship.

Thank you to the Hutton Foundation for funding the much needed TRACTOR which
has already been put to immense use! And thank you to the seller for giving
us a fabulous deal.

Thank you to the Hathaway Family for the in-kind gift of a great trailer
that we have been needing.

TREES FOR CHILDREN TAKES ROOT

Thank you to all of those who have participated in our Trees for Children
program - whether to "replant their home," honor a friend, and support
reforestation. All of these gifts are a positive way you have helped
address global warming, reforest the land, support the education of youth
and inspire all ages.

We wish particularly to honor Tana Sommer-Belin, Dr. Kara Powis, Pravino
Pearson, and Carl and Johanna Wright for taking great responsibility for
their ecological footprints by having their homes "replanted through our
Trees for Children campaign that offers real solutions for mitigating global
warming."

Stay tuned for the unveiling of the Trees for Children website and events

What is Permaculture?

Permaculture is a holistic approach to land use design, based on ecological
principles and patterns. It aims to create stable, productive systems that
provide for human needs, harmoniously integrating the land with people.
Permaculture principles can be applied to any environment, at any scale -
from dense urban settlements to individual homes, from farms to entire
regions.
