MycoDynamic Gardening & Mushroom Cultivation Workshop
We¹d like to let you know about the upcoming MycoDynamic Gardening &
Mushroom Cultivation Weekend Workshop, to be held July 9 & 10, 10 - 5, near
Sebastopol, Sonoma County. What is MycoDynamic Gardening? It's a philosophy
and practice of integrating beneficial mushrooms into the ecology of gardens
and landscapes, along with a variety of complimentary, innovative gardening
technologies. Presented by Wild About Mushrooms Co. and The Rites Project,
this workshop will include both verbal presentations and hands-on
activities, as we delve into home mushroom cultivation and such topics as
ecological regeneration strategies and Permaculture principals.
Saturday: Basics of cultivating culinary & medicinal mushrooms includes
mushroom life cycles, culturing mycelium, acquiring or creating spawn,
avoiding contaminants, building a glove box or home lab, log inoculation,
kit making, and more. Participants will create oyster mushroom kits and
inoculated logs to take home. Learn how to bring beneficial fungi into
garden, landscape, or farm.
Sunday: Discussion and activity will focus on Myco-remediation (restoring
health to polluted land with fungi), applying Permaculture principals,
creating and maintaining worm bins, making compost teas, sheet mulching,
mushroom-vegetable intercropping, and other earth-positive gardening
techniques.
Includes Saturday night potluck. Come join the fun and learning!
Fee: $175 both days, or $100 for a single day. To register, send fee (or
