CONSENSUS DECISION MAKING IN INTENTIONAL COMMUNITIES WITH TREE BRESSEN
Friday, Jan 14: 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm
Sat - Sun, Jan 15 - 16: 10 am - 5 pm (lunch break 1 - 3 both days)
Consensus facilitation is an art and a skill, a science and an intuition.
>From keeping discussions on track to tuning into group energy, a gifted
facilitator serves the group through focusing on the process as well as the
content. Consensus is a special method for gathering group wisdom that
relies on participants' knowledge of and commitment to key principles and
practices in order to be effective. Participants in this lively, hands-on
workshop will learn both facilitation and consensus decision-making skills
through practice on real issues from L.A. Eco-Village.
Tree Bressen has been a consensus facilitator for over a decade, living and
working with intentional communities as well as providing facilitation and
training for a variety of nonprofits, cohousing groups, activists, schools,
and other organizations. Her base is in intentional communities, groups of
people who live together and have to deal with each other every day! Her
work arises from a desire for people to learn the communication skills that
will enable all of us to build a better world together. Tree gives workshops
on consensus decision-making, meeting facilitation, conflict resolution, and
related subjects. Learn more about Tree and the tools she provides for
groups at <http://www.treegroup.info/>.
