2005 Advanced Permaculture Training Program
Hello Friends,

We are now accepting applications for the January 2005 Advanced 
Permaculture Training Program as well as a new year-long, one Sunday a 
month Permaculture Design Course.

REGENERATIVE DESIGN INSTITUTE ADVANCED PERMACULTURE TRAINING
New semester starting January 15th, 2005

This year-long Advanced Permaculture Training offers a new model of 
ecological education and training that creates multi-disciplinary 
practitioners skilled in the art and science of regenerative design as well 
as construction practices.

The training integrates personal experience, practical skills and theory 
with the art and poetry of how to create living environments that provide 
for the needs and desires of the human body, mind & spirit.

• Watershed & Forest Health
• Multi Disciplinary Sustainable Agriculture & Fertility Management
• Indigenous Land Stewardship
• Wilderness Skills - Tracking - Understanding the Language of the Forest

• Construction Skills- Basic Plumbing, Electrical, Irrigation Systems
• Renewable Energy Systems
• Passive Solar Design
• Natural Building & Green Building
• Art in Ecology
• Compassionate Healing
• Herbology, Tinctures, Salves, Soap-making
• Project Management and Consulting
• Process and Methods of Scientific Research

To cover all the topics listed above, students must be enrolled for all 3 
trimesters (one year).

The program is based at the beautiful Institute of Noetic Sciences 200-acre 
campus and retreat center in Petaluma, California (http://www.noetics.org ) 
and consists of two full days of training per week. Students have the 
option of residential or non-residential program, and residential students 
utilize the additional three days per week for self-directed project 
implementation.

Students will receive personalized instruction including field trips, 
offsite workshops, theory and hands-on experience. Our mentoring program 
provides counseling in developing a plan of study for RDI students, 
including placement in appropriate educational and internship programs 
worldwide.

College students attending accredited institution can participate in our 
trainings and receive credit from their institution. Credit is currently 
being offered through New College of California and Prescott College in

One Sunday a Month Year-Long Permaculture Design Course:
A 4 SEASONS PERMACULTURE DESIGN COURSE

This year-long program begins with a two-day weekend starting Jan. 22 & 23, 
2005 and continues one Sunday each month until Dec. 18, 2005. Classes will 
be held the 4th Sunday of the month Jan.–April. May-Dec. the 3rd Sunday of 
the month.

This workshop will be located at a newly developing 17-acre permaculture 
farm at the Commonweal Garden in Bolinas California. http://www.commonweal.org

Over the course of the year you will learn how to observe and use the same 
principles that make ecological systems self-sustaining and apply them to 
your designs for integrated homes and gardens, energy systems and water 
supplies, healthy communities, meaningful and fulfilling work, ecological 
economies and global political movements for change.

The program is designed to allow participants to join the program any month 
throughout the year by taking a one-day introduction to permaculture 
offered each month on the Saturday preceding the Sunday class. Classes will 
take place at a 17-acre farm on the ocean in Bolinas, California that 
already has a pond, windmill, seasonal stream, springs, ranch house, 
heritage orchard and rose collection and green house, and is nestled into 
its own quiet valley.

Early bird discount available if registration and full payment are received 
by Dec. 15th.
