Permaculture Institute of Northern California Update
ADVANCED PERMACULTURE APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAM
NOW ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS
The Permaculture Institute of Northern California is expanding its
programs and collaborations. We have founded a new non-profit organization
called the Regenerative Design Institute (RDI), and we are working in
collaboration with the Institute of Noetic Sciences (IONS) at their campus
and retreat center in Petaluma California. (Noetic.org)
The RDI is now accepting applications for a one year Regenerative Design
Program. This new and unique offering is an advanced permaculture
apprenticeship focused on skill based learning and applications. We are
designing and implementing projects for IONS fabulous 210 acre facility
including sustainable perennial agriculture, natural building, and
watershed restoration. Apprentices will also develop skills itracking and
conducting field studies, listening to the land, community facilitation and
more.
The Site Development Committee at IONS is currently working with William
McDonough + Partners to develop a site plan that will feature regenerative
design principles and practices. The informing principles are, (1) Respect
relationships between spirit and matter, (2) Insist on the right of
humanity and nature to co-exist, (3) Create objects of long-term value, (4)
Eliminate the concept of waste, (5) Rely on natural energy flows, and (6)
See constant improvement by the sharing of knowledge.
Through our collaboration we seek to link the missions of the Institute of
Noetic Sciences and the Regenerative Design Institute. IONS mission is to
unite science and spirituality to help transform consciousness on a global
scale. PINC / RDIs mission is to return humanitys harmonious relationship
to the Earths natural systems and flows.

Jon Young is founder and master teacher-storyteller for Wilderness
Awareness School, writer and director for OWLink Media, educational
consultant for the Riekes Center for Human Enhancement, and senior wildlife
tracker for the Shikari Tracking Guild. Over thirty years ago, Jon was met
on a street corner by a master tracker raised in a traditional tracking
apprenticeship. Thus, at the age of 10, Jon was adopted by his mentor and
was mentored in the old ways of tracking and awareness for the next 10 years.
Bird Language and Tracking:
Exploring the Power of our senses
July 10-11 at the Institute of Noetic Sciences
Starts 9 am on Saturday and goes until 4 pm on Sunday
Fee $225 Does not include accommodations or meals
This program investigates the integral link between tracking, bird language
and awareness. We start by learning The Six Arts of Tracking, a field
inquiry method which forms the foundation each participant needs to begin
to track with confidence on their own. Participants will then be propelled
more deeply into the world of tracking, an activity that embodies the
highest form of expression of awareness.
