[Sdpg] Emergency Response, thurs. 3/20, 5 p.m.

Dear Members and Friends,

In case you don't know already, the San Diego emergency response to oppose
the war on Iraq is TONIGHT, Thursday, March 20th, at 5 p.m. at the Federal
Building (Broadway and Front Sts.)  Please plan to stay as long as
possible. Bring signs, water, walking shoes, and candles.  There will be
speakers, a march and a 7 p.m. candlelight vigil.  The march route is
describe below.   Take the time to familiarize yourself with the route.
Wait to begin moving until the speakers are finished and there is a signal
from the stage to start. At the end move all the way up to the stage so
that the end of the march is not stuck in traffic.

The San Diego Coalition for Peace and Justice (www.sdcpj.org) is also
calling for continued protests at the Federal Building:
1. a daily 7 p.m. Candlelight Vigil
2. a weekly Protest on Saturdays from 1-3 p.m.

********Emergency Response March Route
>From in front of the Federal bldg. (Broadway and Front)
East on E St. to 1st and turn left to Broadway
Turn right on Broadway and go east one block to 2nd
Turn right on 2nd one block back to E.
Follow the curving street around to the left next to Horton Plaza Mall
And back north on 3rd almost to Broadway.
Cut across Horton Plaza (right) before Broadway
Go east to 4th and turn right.
South on 4th, through the Gas Lamp to Market
Cross the two-way street and go left (east) one block to 5th
Then left, back across the west-bound lanes all the way up 5th to Broadway
Cross to the west-bound lanes and go back to Front
Left back to the Fed. Bldg.
This is about 1 1/4 miles.
