WWOOF
Willing Workers On Organic Farms is a cultural exchange. We gather a
list of sustainable projects
and organizations that, from time to time invite volunteers to help
out. People interested in
experiencing a sustainable lifestyle use our list to make contact
with hosts they are interested in
visiting. The hosts and volunteers work out the details of their own
arrangements.

      Who should be a host?
Anyone who can answer yes to these two questions:
      1) Am I sustainable?
      2) Could I use a hand every now and then?

      What's Involved?
There is no obligation to accept volunteers when you signup to be a
host. You just accept
volunteers as you see fit. Generally you should be able to provide
your volunteers with basic room
and board. Please note that OrganicVolunteers is a matchmaking
service and does not take
responsibility for the actions or negligence of any participants in
this program.

      Why be a host?

To create an educational network of people working in the
sustainability movement
To share knowledge and skills with other interested people
To get help with your work, whether it's just around the home
garden or designing a
           sustainable community.
To practice the skills needed to live with other people.
To gain a outside perspective from volunteers
To learn more about the benefits of being a host, ask around on
our forum

      Who should be a volunteer?
Anyone interested in learning about environmental sustainability can
be a volunteer.

      Why be a volunteer?

To learn about any aspect of the sustainable movement you desire.
           To meet like-minded people
To share your knowledge and skills with others
To practice the skills needed to live with other people
           To explore future work possibilities
To learn more about the benefits of being a volunteer ask around
on our forum

      How does it work?
OrganicVolunteers is a simple match making service. We provide a list
of hosts and their contact
info and volunteers make arrangements with the host.
OrganicVolunteers does not place
volunteers with hosts. Do not just show up at a host's door; you must
make contact first and
discuss your arrangement prior to arriving. Hosts can reject any
volunteers they chose and
      volunteers can leave at anytime.

      WHAT ARE "POSITIVE ENVIRONMENTAL SOLUTIONS"?
Positive environmental solutions are affirmative, rather than
negative, responses to environmental
problems. This first step to responding positively is to identify the
problem and possible causes.
The second is to create a measurable objective that focuses on the
intended results rather than
the methods. For example: Global warming is a problem and burning
fossil fuels is a major cause.
Our objective is to create a human settlement that relies on
renewable and sustainable
resources. Once the objective, or positive solution, is clear action
can be taken to obtain that
objective. How you obtain that objective is up to you but
OrganicVolunteers.com is always here to
      help.
