Hello Everyone,
I wanted to send out a reminder regarding the
Esperanza work party this weekend in Mexico.
If you have never been before it is not to be missed.
Please read the following email from Christine Brady
for additional information.
I also wanted to let you in on some of the extended
safari activities that will be accompanying the event.
All are optional and not for the weak hearted.
Events will begin Friday eve in Laguna Beach. I have
arranged a cool pad for everyone to crash at. Great
ocean view, jacuzzi, very accessible to nite life
activities in Laguna.
After the work party on Sat. plan on cruising TJ and
eating fish tacos and doing some shopping.
Transportation is already arranged. Also, there is a
"Togetherness" gathering in San Diego. The event goes
from 10 am on Sat. thru 9 pm on Sun. Events will
include live DJ's (Trevor and other moon tribe cool
kids), free veggie fare, goddess fire ceremony dance
performances, yoga classes and other fun stuff!!!
Call (888) 855-9806 for more info.
If you can make down, give me a buzz so I can dial you
in. (800) 221-3684 X3125
see you there,
Camille Cimino
Dear Friends, This is just a reminder that this
Saturday , May 19th is a work day in Colonia La
Esperanza. Hope to see you! Christine
The following refers to work on the unfinished James
Hubbell designed schools in Colonia La Esperanza in
TIjuana, Baja California (founded by Christine E.
Brady '79)
The following are the dates of the volunteer
work Saturdays given to me by Artist James Hubbell.
May 19, 2001
June 9, 2001
We meet at the parking area of the H street
Trolley in Chula Vista, CA at 8:30 a.m. on the
Saturday listed. Look for Jim's white mini van.
Expect to arrive in the Colonia around 9:30 a.m., work
until 3:00 p.m. and be back inChula Vista around 4:00
p.m.
These dates we will be continuing with the tile
mosaics, building and painting styrofoam sets for the
children's ballet "Don Quixote Comes to Tijuana",
installing glass, doors and windows, as well as
general carpentry and gardening. Don Q. will be
performed this year at the Univ. Autonoma de Baja
Calif. Theatre at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, June 18th and
Thursday, June 21st. (save the dates).
In general, it's helpful if you bring work
gloves, a straw hat and/or any general tools, like a
drill, hammer or sander. We take a lunch break from
12:00 to 1:00 p.m. Bring your own lunch.
Beginners and professionals are welcome. You
can bring your kids! Hope to see you! Christine
P.S. If you try to find the schools on your own ask a
Taxi cab driver to direct you to Colonia La Esperanza
in the Subdelegacion Sanchez Taboada of La Mesa,
Tijuana. The telephone from inside Tijuana is
626-46-98 or 660-31-94.
P.P.S We're looking for children's software tht runs
on Macintosh/Apple computers.
