Street Reclaiming is a host of practical ideas for reclaiming our 
streets.  For neighbors, there is a simple six-week program to reduce 
traffic by 30-50%.  For city officials, it's a package of strategies for 
reducing traffic city-wide comparable to strategies for reducing 
garbage.  Street Reclaiming is a quantum leap beyond traffic calming.  It 
involves psychological reclaiming--a simple technique that anyone can 
initiate with immediate results.  Then, if a group desires, it can move on 
to physical reclaiming: converting traffic space into community spaces that 
will enhance the social fabric of the neighborhood.  An excellent resource 
for community activists, transportation engineers, urban planners, and 
decision makers, Street Reclaiming will also appeal to a wide cross section 
of the general public who are sick of excessive traffic.

David is one of the world's most innovative thinkers in transportation, 
urban design, and community development.  The inventor of the Walking 
School Bus, he is considered the father of Traffic Calming in both North 
America and Australia.  His writings, conference presentations, and 
workshops have changed public policy at the highest levels in many 
countries.  David lives in Brisbane, Australia.

First, turn right on Bimini to 1st bldg. on right.  MTA: #204 on Vermont, 
#16 on Third St., #14 on Beverly; Metro Redline at Beverly, then walk 2 
blks south to First, go 1 blk east on First, turn right on Bimini to 1st 
bldg..  If driving, park at Vons on Second & Bimini if you can't find a 
place on Bimini; try to carpool.

DIRECTIONS to the MTA at Gateway Plaza: Downtown Dash Buses #B or #D, Metro 
Red Line, Blue Line.  Any bus to downtown, then the Dash buses.
