KEN AND  FLAME AND RAVEN

FROM TWIN OAKS AND ACORN COMMUNITIES IN LOUISA, VIRGINIA

Ken is an Urban and Regional Planner who has over 10 years of community
living experience.  In a former life, Ken administered a citizen
participation neighborhood planning process in Pittsburgh.

Flame is on the board of the Federation of Egalitarian Communities and
has lived at Acorn (just up the road from Twin Oaks) for five years.
She is a licensed massage therapist.

Raven has lived at Acorn for over three years, working on a variety of
activities.

Acorn and Twin Oaks are members of the Federation of Egalitarian
Communities <www.thefec.org>, a network of  12 intentional communities
which embrace four principle values:  income sharing, egalitarianism,
nonviolence, and cooperation.  FEC communities hold their land, labor
and other resources in common, and are committed to equality, ecology,
and participatory government.  The network was founded in 1976.  Our
three guests will share slides, stories, and dialogue with us

***If you are joining us for potluck, please bring anything that is
vegetarian, enough for 4 to 8 persons.  Also, PLEASE bring your own
NON-THROWAWAY dishes, eating utensils, cloth napkin.

DIRECTIONS:  From the intersection of First Street and Vermont Avenue in
Los Angeles, go one block east on First, turn right (south) on Bimini
Place.  It's the first building on the right.  First and Vermont is two
blocks south of the Beverly/Vermont Metro, and an easy bike ride from
almost anywhere in the city.

If you're planning on driving, try not to, or at least carpool.  Call
Lois on Sunday afternoon to see who else might be coming from your area.

P.S.  Eco-Village is seeking to get rid of some junk without sending it
to the landfill, e.g., old furniture, chairs, wood, etc.  If you think
you might like to take a look and take some, this will be a good time to
check it out.
