[Lapg] Surplus Land and Urban Agriculture

Fam, 
I need to tap the collective nerdland data pool. I'm looking for some evidence-based examples of successful transformations of surplus of vacant city property into urban agriculture. For example, any studies or reports on the successful models of urban ag in Detroit, Philly or any of the rust-belt areas. Especially, if local jobs were created.
