*Background Info:*
The Arroyo S.E.C.O Network of Time Banks Garden Group serves to connect
neighbors in our community with an interest in gardening, transforming our
food systems, and learning new skills. We organize monthly barn raisings,
seed & produce swaps, and potlucks. Importantly, we help to connect Time
Bank members who have access to land which they would like to cultivate and
gardeners who are interested in helping through a member database and short
survey.
'Barn raising' is the Garden Group's term for community members working
together on a large garden project - similar to how communities throughout
history have come together to build a barn. The Garden Group gives time
credits to Arroyo S.E.C.O Network of Time Banks

help with the project, bring food for the potluck lunch, and/or play
music. Barn raisings provide an opportunity to learn new gardening skills,
trade gardening tips, and share best practices.

Care of the soil and care of the soul are not separate things. -Satish Kumar
The Earth does not belong to man. Man belongs to the Earth. All things are
connected. Whatever befalls the Earth, befalls the sons of the Earth. Man
did not weave the web of life. He is merely a strand in it. Whatever he
does to the web, he does to himself. -Chief Seattle
