Hello all,
A zero-waste group in MacArthur Park called RAC collects food from both
grocery stores and farmers' markets before it will be dumpstered and
gives it away in the park every Sunday afternoon. The group is
"self-help": members of the group who do the work are the same people
who benefit.
They had a guy teach them how to prepare leftover plant material
(veggies that either weren't taken or were too old to distribute) to be
composted. However, he is no longer taking their compost. Often, it is
about 5 large garbage cans full. If anyone would like a regular source
of compost to be picked up from them on late Sunday afternoons, please
contact me.
It is also possible to just come once, particularly until they line up a
new person, but ideally they would have someone commit to coming regularly.
Thanks,
Jocelyn
