[Lapg] Green Festival Coming Up Oct. 29-30. Involvement opportunities.

The Global Exchange/Green America (formerly Co-op America) produced 
Green Festival is coming to Los Angeles Oct 29-30 at the L.A. Convention 
Center.  Save the dates.

Festival organizers held a community meeting and workshop in L.A. City 
Hall last night, and the City will be a partner/sponsor.

The themes for the Festival are: Sustainable Economy, Ecological 
Balance, Social Justice.  It will be the first bi-lingual (Span-Eng) 
green festival in LA, that I am aware of. Festival organizers envision 
more languages in future Festivals.

This particular Green Festival, the first in LA, is different than other 
green festivals in that it is nonprofit sponsored, mission driven, grass 
roots grounded, and is very cautious about green washing 
speakers/exhibitors, which you will get a better idea of from exploring 
its website.

The Festival will be seeking a bicycle valet connection, celebrities, 
performers, lots of volunteers, exhibitors, speakers, lots of outreach 
efforts to all of LA's communities and populations, sponsors, etc.  If 
you want to be involved in any of those capacities or others, check out 
their website, and sign up for your interests.

I think it's going to be a very special event.  You'll be hearing much 
more about it in coming months.
