Hello to all,

   I had hoped to send this out sooner.  A group of locals in Highland Park
are trying to organize a food Co-op.  Around 50 people showed up the first
meeting.  We were pretty excited & impressed by all the different and new
Highland Parkers that showed up; a lot of progressives from out of state
like Vermont & Minneapolis, young families & others from around the area.

   Everyone is interested in developing an alternative, community active
co-op that may also serve for social activities too like cooking/food prep
classes, sewing or other.  The main focus is on the food co-op, and it's in
it's development & planning stages & very open to peoples ideas &
participation.

   If you're interested take a look at the survey attached and try to send
it in before the next meeting.  It's a small survey to get every ones
contact info and get ideas of what people want out of a co-op and how much
they can be involved, etc.

   The next meeting is this Sunday  6/7/09 @ 7pm. It's on Ave 58 where the
Farmer's market is held.  The address is on original message.  Tell anyone
you think might be interested. We hope to see you there.

Hey friends!

Here is the survey we discussed at our meeting last Sunday. Please fill it
out and send it back via email. If you have trouble opening it, let us know
and we can send it to you as an email. Please feel free to forward it along
to anyone you think would be interested. We are so excited to get feedback
and get the ball rolling.

The next meeting is scheduled for Sunday June 7th at 7pm. We will meet at
the co-op and move outside to talk again if need be. It is a potluck, so
bring something if you can! If you plan on bringing something, email us back
so we can coordinate. Also, if anyone wants to help plan and coordinate the
potluck, let us know. This might entail handing out fliers during the next
two weeks and getting there a bit early to help set up.

We will discuss the survey results and allow time for working groups to meet
amongst themselves. And we will place an order with Azure Standard, so try
to order the catalog online before the meeting(or you can download it).
there is more information in the survey document attached.  We will also
enjoy each others company  and share food on a lovely night!
