[Lapg] Low moisture ground cover?

I'm looking for suggestions for low moisture ground cover that is tough enough to stand up to some sports activity on it (along the lines of some light soccer training and workouts).  Natives would be great.  A mixture, including something nitrogen fixing, would be ideal.   Any suggestions?
