Remember our friends in Ojai at Global Resource Alliance (GRA) who
have done such extraordinary work in Tanzania, including hiring
permaculturist Julious Piti (who visited Santa Barbara last year from
Chikukwa, Zimbabwe) to help with the permaculture design work for one
of their projects, a village of 5000 on the banks of Lake Victoria in
Tanzania featured in the documentary "From the Mara Soil"?
well, next Saturday, they are once again sharing abundance with an
annual dinner where you can enjoy a beautiful Ojai evening at
Meditation Mount, while learning about their current projects. it is
a global community we live in now, no escaping that fact, there is
lots to learn from what another part of the world is doing to
implement change for a more sustainable future. The dinner is free,
but you MUST RSVP (details below) in order to attend.

***Margie & Wes visited Tanzania and the GRA Center in 2009 on the
way to the International Permaculture Convergence in Africa. We were
amazed at how quickly permaculture was implemented once the ideas
were shared! and talk about abundance, lush food forests sprung up
where formerly bare ground, surprised everyone how quickly this can
happen in a tropical climate with good design to capture water and
building of the soils. The wells pictured are taking advantage of
pure rock water coming from deep fissures in the earth, an ancient,
but almost lost technique (they are not taping into the water table
that can ultimately have negative impacts)
