Permaculture seeks to meet basic human needs while
regenerating and sustaining natural systems. It is a design system
rooted firmly in applied ecology, proven sustainable practices, and
observation of living systems.

In an evening talk on Friday, February 26, 6:30 -9 pm, at
the Fe Bland Auditorium SBCC West Campus, David White will share how
Permaculture provides us with the tools to make our lifestyle, living
space and community part of the solution while maintaining a high
quality of life. Join David White as he shares the concepts of
permaculture for large and small landscapes, and describes what makes
permaculture design unique.

David White received his BA in Biological Science and PhD in
Medicine at the Edinburgh University. He performed post doctoral
research at Cornell Medical School before moving to Ojai California,
where he helped run an organic farm and became involved in many
environmental organizations including Keep the Sespe Wild. He is
currently the executive director of the Center for Regenerative
Agriculture (www.ojaicra.org) in Ojai CA. He studied Permaculture
with Bill Mollison in 1997, and has been introducing permaculture
into classrooms, curriculums, and his community of Ojai for the last
12 years.
