There are two wonderful opportunities scheduled this summer at the
Lama Foundation in Northern New Mexico. The Lama Foundation is an
eclectic spiritual community, which began in the late 1960s. It lost
most of its buildings and living structures in a devastating forest
fire about ten years ago. Since then, the Lama community and the
natural building community have collaborated to rebuild in a more
sustainable way.
Join forty or more diverse experts in natural building, permaculture
and appropriate design for the the 9th Build Here Now, June 17 - 24,
2007. This gathering will offer participants not only an opportunity
for acquiring technical information and hands-on practice, but also a
chance to experience a dedicated intentional community.

Even more depth and breadth is available through the Natural Building
Apprenticeship, June 1 - July 10, 2007. Led by Steve Kemble, Mollie
Curry, and Austin Babcock, the Apprenticeship is an intensive
"six-week hands-on introduction to the wonderful world of natural
building. With a focus on actual hands-on building projects and some
classroom time, apprentices will be guided through several natural
building methods and skills, including: straw-bale, adobe, and
straw-clay walls; essential basic carpentry for door and window
framing; and natural clay- and lime-based plasters. The
apprenticeship also includes "Build Here Now", a one-week natural
building convergence featuring cutting-edge natural building
professionals from around the country."

Each of these programs offers an opportunity to be of service to a
unique community, to learn natural building techniques from skilled
practitioners, and to make contacts and connections that may
invigorate your life and lead to many new opportunities. Please
contact the Lama Foundation through the above links or through
info at lamafoundation.org.
