Attached is the program for an event in northern california: The 2nd
annual elders/youth peace and unity gathering in humboldt county. this is
a four-day conference networking indigenous, as well as global ceremonial
elders with the youth community. Community activism, permaculture,
sustainable living and indigenous peoples' issues will be showcased with
workshops, NGO booths, presentations and council forum.
Permaculturalists and NGO organizations are invited to attend, present
workshops, or vend eco-friendly goods.

The 2nd Annual Elders/Youth Peace and Unity Gathering
We welcome you to join us for the second annual Elders/Youth Peace and
Unity Gathering. In the heart of the ancient redwoods, we will gather
around the sacred fire for four days of sharing, listening, music and
ceremony. Come and listen to the wisdom of Indigenous and other
ceremonial lders from around the world.Feel the heartbeat of the drum
awaken your
spirit. Purify and heal yourself through ceremony and prayer. Help us
to psss on a world of peace to the next generation.
Nestled in the heart of Humboldt County stands thousand-year-old
ancient redwoods. In the presence of these ancient trees, we will gather
together the young, the old, and all in between. Ceremonial elders from
around the world are invited to share their wisdom and sacred ways with
the younger generations.
In this time of great change, we will come together to learn
from the elders' knowledge of natural laws and ways of connecting with
spirit. Across the world, in the hearts and minds of elders there are
kept many ancient teachings that must not be lost. These teachings are
crucial to our survival through these times. By learning about and
working with our own connection to spirit and natural laws, we can move
closer to inner peace, which can help create peace around us. Come and
join us to create a circle of love, faith, unity, respect and peace.
When: Full Moon-Friday, October 10th,through Inigenous Peoples
Day*-Monday, October 13th. Gate will open at noon on friday (opening
ceremony @ 5:00 p.m. on Friday) and close at 11:00a.m on Tuesday.
Rain or Shine. *ex-columbus day
Where: Pamplin Grove Group Campsite, Humboldt County California
Who: Indigenous and other Ceremonial elders from around the world, West
Coast Performers and Musicians, Food Not Bombs, Native American Church
affiliates, Friends and Family
What: Four days of camping, sharing, workshops, music, ceremony, and
relaxation. Meals will be offered daily by Food Not Bombs as well as
special Salmon cook-offs in honor of the elders. There will be a Kiddy
camp for young children. A more detailed schedule will be offered at a
later date.
We will be accepting a recommended donation of $10-$30 per person per
day or $40-$120 per person for all four days of the gathering.There is
a 250 person capacity, so RSVP and send your donation early to insure
your attendance. Food and supply donations are also welcome. There will
also be volunteer opportunities, but you must RSVP.If you have skills or
workshops you would like to share, please RSVP. Be responsible for your
own camping gear and be prepared for all weather conditions. Bring your
own plate, bowl, cup,and utensils. Bring firewood for your personnel
campsite.
We will be holding a fundraising raffle so bring any
donations(art, crafts, harvest goods, etc...) you'd like to add to the
raffle. On Monday we will also be holding a small barter faire so bring
your arts, crafts, food and harvest time goods for trading.
Directions: 101 North/South to Hwy 36 East, Go 12 miles to Pamplin
Grove entrance on your right(entrance is Aprox. 1 mile past Martin and
Shirley's Store)
