Jude Hobbs and Tom Ward are a goldmine of over 30 years of teaching and
in-the-fielddesign experience. This is their fourth teachers training.
Jude Hobbs is a designer, horticulturist, and instructor.her company,
Cascadia LandscapeDesign has offered environmental design solutions for rural and urban
settings since 1982.Jude, author of "A Guide to Multi-functional Hedgerows", has taught all
over the west coastfor 15 years. She specializes in courses for women. Jude tends a forest
garden in Eugene,Oregon.
Tom Ward is an ethno-botanist, eco-forester, and permaculture designer.He
has extensivemulticultural experience in the Staes and abroad.Based in Ashland,Oregon,
Tom is buildingan eco-topian emmergent culture for more than 27 years and is presently
also building acottage from materials gathered from his home site.He is the author of
"Greenward Ho, anEcological Appraoch to Sustainable Health".Tom also developed curricula
for permaculturecourses at Laney College in Oakland andat D-Q University in Davis,CA. he
has been teachingmore than 18 years now.
This certified course will be held at Heartwood Institute in the mountains
22 miles fromGarberville, CA, half a days drive from the San Francisco Bay area
through the Redwoodscorridor.
