Bruce Hill has extensive experience designing and installing pond and 
aquaculture systems and has pioneered graywater and blackwater systems in 
Mexico. In Illinois he worked with Homer Buck developing experimental fish 
polyculture systems. Currently Bruce stewards an eight acre farm with several 
fish ponds and a diverse food forest on the island of Maui.
He has taught permaculture courses around the world, and joins us in Ojai 
after teaching a design course in Washington State.

Dr. Bill Roley, Director of the Permaculture Institute of Southern 
California, has taught design courses for the past 20 years. As faculty at 
CalPoly Pomona and Saddleback College, he has established innovative 
university level ecological training programs. Dr. Roley is a hands-on 
educator, so be prepared to make stuff work at the course. He will emphasize 
the fundamentals of permaculture design and regenerative strategies for 
maximizing water capture and use in the home.

Tom Baldwin, our site host, is an experienced horticulturist and permaculture 
designer. He will share his on-site design strategies for his home and other 
structures. 

Eric Werbalowsky will assist the lead instructors to facilitate our course 
flow. He has taught at several design courses and more than a hundred compost 
and permaculture workshops. He is a compost evangelist and green business 
development consultant. 

guest speakers

Wesley Roe and Margie Bushman will share their extensive knowledge and 
experience. They live in Santa Barabara hosting permaculture events and 
currently Wes is an editor for Hopedance magazine. They have recently 
travelled to Australia and will share some of what they have seen there.
