**Community Seed Event, July 9**
You're invited to join us for a special hands-on event in Grain and Heirloom
Seed Saving, organizing, storing, and community distribution happening
Sunday, July 9 near Ojai, California.
We will enjoy group processing of organic garden-scale seedcrops which have
grown to maturity: heirloom barleys, wheat, quinoa, oats, fava beans,
broccoli, sunflowers, kale, maize, daikon radish, and more. Experiencing
these nutritious crops in abundanct diversity furthers local food security.
Helpful tools and simple methods will be demonstrated and samples of all
seeds will be shared with participants.
There is NO FEE to participate, though donations are welcome. Lunch will be
healthy POTLUCK including homegrown peaches and apricots. This event is an
especially good opportunity to bring what you've grown to share and trade
with others.

***Background/Description***
While stewarding one of California's most diverse "food forests", I
periodically link cultural learning opportunities with a need
for hands-on help benefiting this inspirational place.
After teaching, mentoring, and writing often about permaculture and
ecological design, this is a particularly satisfying and effective way to
share community organic growing experience. Enjoy healthy fun while
socializing with our plant-people-friends!
Thanks,
Akiva
