Messaging Objectives:
Educate: The Plan demonstrates that there is an interconnected food
system and it can be strengthened.
Identify: For every segment of the system, the Plan points to areas
that could be stronger and why doing so is important to the system as a
whole. The whole is greater than the sum of its parts.
Inspire: The plan is an all-hands call to action to future-proof Santa
Barbara County.
Validate: The Plan is an unprecedented community led process with
integrity.
The SANTA BARBARA COUNTY FOOD ACTION PLAN is a strategy-based community
“blueprint” for an accessible, thriving, sustainable, and healthy

that supports healthy people, a healthy economy, and a healthy
