So about a week ago John Roulac of Nutiva comes to me and says....
Diego, we want to sponsor some tickets to Permaculture Voices so some
motivated, self starting permies, who might not be able to afford to go
to Permaculture Voices could get the chance to go.
We talked more about it. I had to decide to allow this or not. In the
end I decided to go with the idea and the result is that they are
offering $195 tickets to Permaculture Voices.
You have to make less than $50,000 per year to apply and you also have to meet some other criteria. FULL INFO HERE.
This
is Nutiva's idea and they are funding this. We are just helping with
the application process. It came out of the blue and I am happy to
offer this to people. I stand behind the idea and thank them for their
generosity. Hopefully this helps some people out who otherwise might
not have gotten the chance to go. If I could have made every ticket
$195 I would have, but I can't. We will shoot to do more of this next
year, but in the meantime if you want to go and need some help, then
take advantage because this is a very limited opportunity.
Thanks for your support for everything that we are doing. More to come... :)
I don't want this email to be all sales, so if you want to read a good article from reslience.org....
Come on Home!: Ecological Agriculture and Sixteen Wonderful Farms that Point the Way
Summary: The transition to an ecologically-based
agriculture is obligatory if we hope to feed ourselves during the
wrenching economic, social, and climatic troubles ahead. But how do we
make this transition? This essay uses over a dozen working farms across
the country (& a few other countries) to illustrate some of the key
principles of the ecologically-based agriculture that will be
required. …The next steps are up to you, kid.
