Tonight, Wednesday, June 20th, please join us at a free meeting of
the Permaculture Guild of Santa Barbara at 7 pm at the Watershed
Resource Center, 2981 Cliff Drive in Santa Barbara.
We'll be discussing
Hugelkultur
-- creating water-conserving, nutritious planting beds by gathering
brush and wood and covering them with earth. This can be done by
digging a trench in the ground or building up the mound on top of the
ground. See
http://www.richsoil.com/hugelkultur/
for more info.
At 6 pm we will hold our Steering Committee
meeting, so please come early! As Larry announced in
a separate email, due to his new appointment to the Integrated Pest
Management Committee of the city of Santa Barbara, he will be stepping
down so we need new folks to take over running the guild if it is to
continue. It's easy as we have the basics already set up: an email
list, a Facebook group, a free venue where we can show videos and lots
of local folks who have taken the PDC or want to do so. All
the new team needs to do is add great topics, speakers and events!
Let's keep the local permaculture community meeting regularly so
we can share what we know...
