Dr. Elaine
Ingham has
revolutionized how the science and farming communities understand the
life of soil. Elaine's soil food web approach teaches how to
cultivate a soil that is teeming with the right balance of beneficial
micro organisms. Through decades of intensive research, Elaine
has evolved age-old compost and compost tea strategies to help
thousands of farms, golf courses, ranches, and landscapes to reach
incredible productivity without the use of chemical fertilizers or
pesticides. Dr. Elaine Ingham is an energetic,
easy-to-understand speaker who has addressed audiences as diverse as
the United Nations and Potato Grower Conferences, to explain what life
in the soil is all about.
The MA Center is the US headquarters for the
international humanitarian and spiritual activities of an India saint,
Mata Amritanandamayi (known as Amma). The 180-acre grounds serve
as an educational hub for the Bay Area through demonstration of
exemplary sustainable design and practices. Drawn by the
site's beauty, accessiblity by public transportation, and the center's
uncompromising dedication to using all proceeds to fund international
humanitarian aid projects, hundreds of volunteers have joined together
in service to plant the orchards and reforest the hillsides. The
MA Center will be using a Soil Food Web approach for the orchards and
landscape.
