Lead Instructor Penny Livingston-Stark
Penny Livingston-Stark has been teaching
internationally and working professionally in the land management,
regenerative design and permaculture development field for 25 years
and has extensive experience in all phases of ecologically sound
design and construction as well as the use of natural non-toxic
building materials. She specializes in site planning and the
design of resource-rich landscapes integrating, rainwater collection,
edible and medicinal planting, spring development, pond and water
systems, habitat development and watershed restoration for homes,
co-housing communities, businesses and diverse yield perennial
farms.Penny is a founding member of the Natural Building Colloquium,
and co-founder of the Regenerative Design Insititute in Bolinas,
California. Penny has taught over 100 PDCs!
Lead Instuctor Andrew Jones
Andrew has a background in ecology, Permaculture,
humanitarian aid /international development and wellness. Current
projects include the development of a Healing and Sustainability
Demonstration site in Baja California Sur, Mexico and an eco-cultural
sustainability center in the Amazonian region of Peru. He has
developed a range of action education services - including disaster
preparedness and wellness & life foods education. Andrew
serves on the faculty of the Deepening Roots Program (Art of Living
Foundation), the Permaculture Research Institute, and Gaia University
Northeast USA.
Course Host and Guest Instructor Gabriel
Howearth
Gabriel Howearth is one of the most
respected and knowledgeable pioneers in the Organic
Farming movement. In the seventies he studied with Alan
Chadwick, creator of French
Intensive Gardening and with Peter Dukish, recognized master of the
Biodynamic farming
principles of Rudolph Steiner. Gabriel was the co-founder of the
organic seed company, Seeds of Change, one of the original certifiers
for Oregon Tilthe, and the designer of the Herb Pharm. His work
with
seeds, plants, Mayan, Quecha, Hopi and Pueblo 's farmers is documented
in "Secrets of
the Soil" and "The Secret Life of Plants" by
Chris Byrd and Peter Tompkins, as well
as several other books. Gabriel is the founder of Buena Fortuna
Garden.
Course Coordinator and Instructor Bruce
Horowitz
Certified Permaculture Designer and Teacher,
Bruce is the founder of RIPE (The Raw
Institute of Permaculture Education). He has helped organize and
presented at festivals
retreats, classes and courses around the globe. He holds a masters
degree in the Culture,
Ecology and Sustainable Community program from New College of
California. Bruce is the author of "The Sun Kitchen Un-Cookbook"
and "The Raw Revolution: Saving the Planet One Bite at a
Time."

Instructor Daniel Jaramillio
Daniel is an agronomist with a concentration in
sustainable development and
biological control of insect pests from the California Polytechnic
State University,
Permaculture designer certified by the Permaculture Research
Institute, editorial
member of the "No Nos Llamamos Plata" electronic magazine,
founder member
of "SISAS" (Sistemas de Intercambio Solidario para la
Autogestion y la Sostenibilidad).
Daniel has participated in the creation and the design of institutes,
demonstration
sites, local currency systems and resettlement projects for displaced
communities,
and has taught courses and conferences about Permaculture and
agro-ecology in
Colombia, Venezuela, Costa Rica, México, Perú, Brasil and
Australia.
