Maryam Henein is an investigative journalist and researcher who has worked in documentary film making for the past ten years. She has helped produce documentaries for the BBC, Discovery, Robert Greenwald and Morgan Spurlock. Prior to Vanishing of the Bees she produced an episode for The Sierra Club Chronicles about the Exxon Valdez oil spill. As a journalist she has written for Los Angeles Times, Science & Spirit Magazine, Penthouse and The Cairo Times. Maryam believes wholeheartedly that she is in service to bees and the message they wish to convey.
George Langworthy has produced, directed and filmed documentaries on topics including: the teenage environmental movement, holistic therapies for AIDS, sixteenth century philosopher Giordano Bruno, and rock stars like Devo, Sheryl Crow and the White Stripes. His award-winning short film Breezeway premiered at the Sundance Film Festival and was broadcast on HBO, PBS, the BBC, and Canal +. He brings passion, curiosity and creativity to his work as a filmmaker and strives to engage the minds of his audience as well as touch their hearts.
