To get them started in bins and compost piles I just dig them out of my garden. That way, you’ll get local, adapted varieties and they’ll breed like crazy once you get them in bins with lots of organic matter. Plus, they’re free!

I get mine at the bait store in carp.  you want the red wigglers.  its next to the car wash and deli. have not shopped for them in a while .  you might call first. I'm sure the bait stores or fishing shops on the way to the lake cachuma sorry about spelling up there by paradise rd. is it 154  there are some =fishing stores right across the street from big 5.  big 5 may even have them. any way I use to pick them up at bait shops.
