Saturday, April 11, 10 am to noon: The Backyard Food Forest in Spring
We’ll tour Larry Saltzman and Linda Buzzell’s backyard food forest full of fruit and nut trees and many heritage roses. Larry will show us how to apply Permaculture design principles to create an intensely productive edible landscape on a suburban lot. Currently the property has 102 food-bearing trees plus understory edible perennial bushes and vines on around 1/3 of an acre. Linda is assembling a collection of rare heritage tea roses which love Santa Barbara’s climate and are an integral part of the landscape design.
RSVP to Larry at lbsaltzman@aol.com. Please indicate if you need directions and they will be sent to you.
